It is understood that rhinoplasty is a set of procedures in which not only the shape of the nose but also the functional problems related to breathing are corrected.
While a small incision is made on the tip of the nose in the open technique, in closed rhinoplasty, the entire surgery is performed through the nostrils. However, in our own practice, we prefer the closed technique in both primary and revision rhinoplasty surgeries.
Limited field of vision for the closed technique surgeon, although it is a more difficult surgery, it is much faster in terms of healing due to the lack of visible scars on the skin and the protection of the vessels, nerves and ligaments passing through the tip of the nose. In the experienced hands, closed technique rhinoplasty is very advantageous for the patient.
The technique called ultrasonic piezo rhinoplasty, the bones are shaped with sound waves with the help of a piezo device that is not broken with old-school techniques. In the ultrasonic (piezo) technique, the device is sensitive only to bone tissue and does not damage soft tissue, vessels and nerves, so complaints such as postoperative swelling and bruising are almost never or very rarely seen. Considering the advantages of closed rhinoplasty in our surgical practice, we combine the advantages of closed rhinoplasty with ultrasonic rhinoplasty and offer a much more comfortable surgery to our patients by shaping the bones with sound waves without incision and without breaking the bones in the form of closed ultrasonic rhinoplasty.
